Standard LCL Rates
Rates are billed per chargeable Cubic Meter (CBM). Normal cargo includes building supplies, furniture, general machinery, and standard clothing. Special cargo includes hazardous goods, fragile items, or high-value items.

The CBM Billing Standard
For ocean LCL shipping, rates are calculated using volume in Cubic Meters (CBM). In sea freight billing logic, 1 metric ton (1,000 kg) is treated as equivalent to 1 CBM. Heavy, dense cargo is charged by its weight equivalent rather than volume if it exceeds the volumetric size.
Conversion Formula:
Volume (CBM) = (Length cm × Width cm × Height cm) ÷ 1,000,000
Weight Equivalent (CBM) = Total Weight in kg ÷ 1,000
Chargeable CBM = Maximum of (Total Volume in CBM, Weight Equivalent in CBM)
Total Cost = Chargeable CBM × Rate per CBM
Example Calculation:
If you ship dense metal fixtures weighing 1,200 kg with an actual package volume of 0.8 CBM:
Weight Equivalent = 1,200 ÷ 1,000 = 1.2 CBM.
Since 1.2 CBM is greater than 0.8 CBM, the chargeable CBM is **1.2 CBM**. Billed at $180/CBM, the cost is $216.00.
